      • NEC and Sony Multisync (or Multiscan) are physically similar but are not interchangeable due to fundamentally different internal pinout assignments for color and sync signals. Multisync name itself was an NEC trade mark and the NEC Multisync Cable is significantly more popular than the Sony version Multiscan cables while Sony produced high-quality monitors.
